Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions are a translation of the Czech original. In case of any discrepancy, the Czech version shall prevail.

1. General Provisions

These Terms & Conditions (hereinafter "Terms") govern the mutual rights and obligations of the Seller and the Buyer arising from purchases made through the deskhide.cz online store.

The Buyer is any natural or legal person who places an order through the online store.

2. Orders and Contract Formation

  1. The Buyer selects a product, color, size, and optional engraving on the store page.
  2. By clicking "Add to Cart" and completing the order, the Buyer submits a binding order.
  3. Payment is processed through the Stripe payment gateway. The purchase contract is concluded upon successful completion of the payment.
  4. An order confirmation is sent to the email address provided during payment.

3. Prices and Payment

All prices listed in the online store are final and include VAT. Shipping is free.

  • Small Pad — €79
  • Large Desk Pad — €129
  • Initials engraving — free
  • Custom text engraving — +€13

Payment can be made by credit/debit card, Apple Pay, or Google Pay through the secure Stripe payment gateway.

4. Delivery

Each pad is handmade to order. Processing time is 2–3 business days from order confirmation.

Shipping is provided via Zasilkovna (pickup points, Z-Boxes) and PPL (door-to-door delivery) within the Czech Republic, and via PPL and DPD for EU shipments.

5. Right of Withdrawal (14-Day Cooling-Off Period)

In accordance with Section 1829 of the Czech Civil Code (Act No. 89/2012 Coll.), the consumer has the right to withdraw from the purchase contract without giving a reason within 14 days of receiving the goods.

The goods must be returned unused, undamaged, and in their original packaging to: Václav Kocourek, Pomořanská 486/7, Troja, 181 00 Praha 8, Czech Republic.

The Seller will refund the purchase price within 14 days of receiving the returned goods, using the same payment method as the original transaction.

Exception — engraved products: In accordance with Section 1837(d) of the Czech Civil Code, the right of withdrawal does not apply to goods customized to the consumer's specifications. Pads with engraving (initials or custom text) are made to order according to the Buyer's individual requirements and are therefore excluded from the right of withdrawal.

6. Complaints and Warranty

The Seller is liable for defects in goods in accordance with Sections 2165 et seq. of the Czech Civil Code. The statutory warranty period is 24 months from the date of receipt.

What is not a defect: Natural variations in leather (grain patterns, minor marks, color variations) and the gradual development of patina are natural characteristics of genuine leather and do not constitute a product defect.

How to file a complaint:

  1. Contact us at hello@deskhide.cz with a description of the defect and attach photographs.
  2. The Seller will assess the complaint and inform the Buyer of the next steps.
  3. The complaint will be resolved within 30 calendar days of submission.

7. Personal Data Protection

The Seller processes the Buyer's personal data in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR). For detailed information, see our Privacy Policy.

8. Out-of-Court Dispute Resolution

In the event of a dispute between the Seller and a consumer that cannot be resolved by mutual agreement, the consumer has the right to contact the following bodies for out-of-court dispute resolution:

9. Product Characteristics

Deskhide pads are made from full-grain genuine leather and handcrafted in a Czech workshop. Each piece is unique — minor variations in color, texture, and grain pattern are a natural characteristic of the material and a mark of authenticity.

Over time, the leather develops a patina, which is a desirable aesthetic quality and a testament to the material's character.

10. Final Provisions

These Terms & Conditions take effect on 20 February 2026.

Matters not governed by these Terms are subject to the provisions of the Czech Civil Code (Act No. 89/2012 Coll.) and other applicable laws of the Czech Republic.

The Seller reserves the right to amend these Terms. The updated version will be published on this page.
