Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy is a translation of the Czech original. In case of any discrepancy, the Czech version shall prevail.

2. What Personal Data We Collect

As part of operating the online store, we collect the following personal data:

  • Name — to process and deliver your order
  • Email address — for order confirmation, communication, and optional newsletter
  • Shipping address — to dispatch your order
  • Payment information — processed exclusively by the Stripe payment gateway; we do not store payment details (card numbers, etc.)
  • Order history — to fulfill legal obligations and handle complaints

3. Purpose and Legal Basis for Processing

We process personal data based on the following legal grounds:

  • Performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) — processing orders, manufacturing, and delivering goods
  • Legal obligations (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR) — accounting and tax requirements
  • Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) — fraud prevention, protection of the Seller's rights; sending a satisfaction questionnaire about your purchase (Section 7(3) of Act No. 480/2004 Coll.), unless you declined it in the cart
  • Consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) — sending newsletters (only if you voluntarily subscribe); analytics and marketing cookies (only if you allow them in the cookie banner)

4. Newsletter (Brevo)

You may voluntarily subscribe to our newsletter through the form on our website. We use Brevo (Brevo SAS, France) to manage newsletter distribution and process subscriber email addresses.

You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the link in any newsletter email, or by contacting us at hello@deskhide.cz.

5. Satisfaction Questionnaire (Seznam.cz)

After an order placed in the Czech version of the store, we pass your email address and details of the goods you bought to Seznam.cz, a.s. (Reg. No. 26168685, Radlická 3294/10, 150 00 Prague 5). As our processor, Seznam.cz emails you a questionnaire about your purchase and asks you to rate the goods. It keeps this data for 365 days; ratings may appear on Seznam services such as Zboží.cz.

You do not have to receive it: tick „Nesouhlasím se zasláním dotazníku spokojenosti“ in the cart and we will not pass your email to Seznam. You can also refuse later by emailing hello@deskhide.cz; we will inform Seznam without delay. Orders placed in the English version are not sent to Seznam.

6. Data Recipients

We share your personal data only with the following third parties:

  • Stripe (Stripe, Inc., USA) — payment processing
  • Zasilkovna — shipping and delivery
  • Brevo (Brevo SAS, France) — newsletter distribution (only if you are subscribed)
  • Seznam.cz (Seznam.cz, a.s., Czech Republic) — satisfaction questionnaire for Czech orders (unless you declined it) and measuring orders from Sklik ads (only with your consent to marketing cookies)

We do not sell or share your data with any other third parties.

7. Data Retention

  • Order data — retained for the period required by tax and accounting regulations (10 years)
  • Newsletter email — until you unsubscribe
  • Email for the satisfaction questionnaire — 365 days at Seznam.cz
  • Cookies — for the duration of the session or as specified by the respective cookie

8. Cookies

Without your consent, the website uses only the essential cookies it needs to work. Analytics cookies (Google Analytics, Hotjar) and marketing cookies (Meta Pixel, Seznam.cz Sklik) load only once you allow them in the cookie banner. You can change your choice at any time in the cookie settings.

9. Your Rights

Under the GDPR, you have the following rights:

  • Right of access — you may request information about the data we process about you
  • Right to rectification — you may request correction of inaccurate data
  • Right to erasure — you may request deletion of your data, provided there is no other legal basis for processing
  • Right to restriction of processing — you may request restriction of processing in certain cases
  • Right to data portability — you may request your data in a machine-readable format
  • Right to object — you may object to processing based on legitimate interest
  • Right to withdraw consent — you may withdraw consent for processing (e.g., newsletter) at any time

10. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data:

  • Our website is secured with HTTPS
  • Payment data is processed by Stripe, which is PCI-DSS compliant
  • We only collect data necessary to fulfill your order
